Why I became a teacher:

I became a teacher so that I can impact and mold young learners.  Teachers can do a lot to shape and influence the lives of their students.   I model fairness and sportsmanship in and out of my classroom.  Young learners quickly pick up on these characteristics and apply them to their lives.  That is rewarding to see and exciting to be a part of.

What I love about teaching:

I love connecting with the students.  I work hard at establishing a classroom of independent and responsible learners, and at the same time creating an open, inviting, and fun atmosphere.  My students begin to see the joy in learning and I create a setting that allows students to become life long learners.  Teaching is the most fun when students try to acquire knowledge because of their interests, with no thought about a resulting grade.

Why I came to Bethel Prep:

I came to Bethel Prep to be part of something new.  I have had increasing frustrations with the schools I have worked in.  I believe Bethel Prep is an opportunity to refine and reshape education, and I am excited to be a part of it from the beginning.  Bethel Prep uses the Principle Approach, which capitalizes on the way students developmentally learn best.  I look forward to teaching my students using this style

What I look forward to at Bethel Prep:

I look forward to creating an environment that will allow teachers and students to openly collaborate.  Too often schools carry out certain procedures because that is the way it has always been done, or because the state says that is the way it has to be done.  Bethel Prep will be free from these restrictions and will be able to focus on its number one priority, what is best for the students.
